Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the May Hero Arts 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on release! This month’s release is amazing and it is all about an AMAZING celebration – Happy 50th Birthday Hero Arts!!!! Both the Classic and Premium kits this month are truly AMAZING and Hero Arts is celebrating their Birthday! Each kit is packed full of amazing goodies that can be used all year long for any celebration! Each kit also has special 50th Anniversary Gifts – thank you Hero Arts! I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first card I am sharing today, I am using contents from the May My Monthly Hero Premium kit (as well as some other coloring mediums from Hero Arts). I started with a piece of Luxe Watercolor Paper. I prepped the surface with my anti-static powder tool. I then chose the Balloon Background Cling stamp from the Premium Kit. I stamped the balloons using Hero Hues Onyx Pigment Ink. I then applied Hero Arts Clear embossing powder to the panel and heat set it with my embossing tool. I wanted to create a colorful panel of balloons and watercolored using the Hero Arts Neon Liquid watercolors. I used: Brights Red, Brights Orange, Brights Sunshine, Brights Chartreuse, Brights Purple, and Brights Pink. I added the watercolor to the palette included in the kit! I love this palette, it is small and has 8 places for ink! So it is the perfect size to be on my desk while I am working! I watercolored all the balloons using 2 layers of coloring allowing each layer of color to dry on it’s own.

Next I wanted to add a bit more dimension and sparkle to each of the balloons. I used White Iridescent Shimmer Spray, as well as 3 colors of Two Tone Sprays: Bright Yellow and Copper, Fuchsia and Gold, Royal Purple and Gold. I placed these colors into the watercolor palette included in the kit. I placed a small amount of spray and then watercolored with these on top of the neon watercolors. I really love the dimension it created, as well as the pops of color! Next I added Hero Arts Black Liquid watercolor to my palette and colored around the balloons. I love the soft gray color I achieved here. I allowed the panel to completely dry, then die cut the panel using the Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle dies. I then added splatters using leftover color from my palette, as well as Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink. Once dry, I adhered the panel to a top folding card base using Hero Arts Precision glue.

I completed the card using the sentiments from the Floral Cake Clear Stamp set included in the kit. I stamped the sentiments onto Pitch Black card stock, using embossing and watermark ink. I heat set the sentiments using white embossing powder. I die cut two more layers of the sentiment using my compact trimmer and the included dies onto Pitch Black card stock. I die cut additional layers for added dimension. I adhered these together with Precision Glue. I then applied the sentiments, as well as sequins from the Champagne collection (included in kit). I had so much fun making this birthday card! This kit is full of amazing possibilities that can be used year round!!!!!

For my next project I am sharing some of the AMAZING May add on products this month! They are so awesome and I had so much fun combining several of them! I am using: Sparkle Weave Stencil (this is AMAZING), Bubble Celebration Bold Print, Your Day Messages Stamp Set, Hooray Birthday Cover Plate, and the Balloon Bunch Fancy Die.

I started by creating the background for my card using Hero Hues Core Inks on a gelli plate using Dove White card stock! I just love this look and the texture you get from these inks on a gelli plate. I start by placing the ink directly to my gelli plate. I then used a brayer to remove the lines. I then place the card stock panel directly to the gelli plate. I then remove the print and repeat if needed by adding more inks. On the plate I used Hero Hues Core Inks in: Pale Tomato, Lemon Yellow, Papaya, and Paradise. Next I used the new Sparkle Weave Stencil on the card panel. I applied Hero Hues Core Ink through sections of the stencil using Ultra Core Pink Ink using a blending brush. I then randomly stamped the Balloon Celebration Bold Print using Granite Core Ink in a few sections.

Next I placed the stencil back onto the inked sections and applied Hero Arts Glitter Paste over the areas with the pink ink using my palette knife. I set the panel aside to dry. Once the panel was completely dry, I trimmed the panel using Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle dies. I distressed the edges using Hero Arts Pitch Black Ink. Next I die cut balloons using the Balloon Bunch Fancy Die. I die cut the balloons using left overs from the Reactive Ink panels I created for my Countdown blog post. I have it linked here if you want to see the exact colors I used. I die cut the strings for the balloons using the Glitter Paper Basics pack – I just love the contrast with the black ribbon. I adhered these together using Precision Glue.

I completed the card by adhering the panel onto a top folding card base. I chose 2 sentiments: Your Day Messages stamp set stamped in Pitch Black Ink. The Hooray die is from the new Hooray Birthday Cover Plate. I die cut the word using Hero Hues card stock in Mustard. I added Iridescent Embossing Powder in Bronze to the outer section. I added the die cut Hooray letters back in using glue. I also added Pitch Black to the edges of the Hooray die for added texture.

I had so much fun using the May add ons! They are all amazing and such a fun release for birthday’s, graduations, truly any celebration year round! Happy 50th Birthday Hero Arts!!!!
