May 2024 My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Hero Arts today for the Countdown to the May 2024 My Monthly Hero kit (and add-on products)! We are celebrating this weekend with a three day countdown sharing beautiful inspiration all weekend using the Classic and Premium Kits before the release on Monday May 6th. Today is Day 1 of our Countdown and we will be celebrating all weekend with Countdown Posts coming this weekend on Saturday and Sunday! I have added the links here as well. Today I am sharing inspiration using the May My Monthly Hero Premium Kit! So let’s get started!

I am so excited for the May My Monthly Hero, it is an awesome kit to celebrate!!!! This month Hero Arts is ready to celebrate their 50th Anniversary and this kit is the perfect way to celebrate!!!!! For my first examples using the kit, I made 3 tags! I started with 2 pieces of Hero Arts Luxe Watercolor paper. I then added Hero Arts Reactive Inks to my work surface. I press one color at a time onto my work surface, then spirtz the ink with water, move the ink with my finger, then dip the paper into the ink. I then dry the paper with my heat tool, then add water droplets, and pick up the color with my paper towel. I repeat this process using all of the inks until I had the color and texture I was looking for. I used the following Hero Arts Reactive Ink colors: Fruit Punch, Creamsicle, Lemon Drop, Splash, Thistle, Grape Slush, and Fog. I set the panels aside to dry.

Once my panels were dry, I die cut 3 tags using the Hero Arts Tag Dies. I then created the backgrounds on each of the tags using stamps in the kit. I prepped the surface with my anti-static powder tool. I then stamped the images using Hero Arts Embossing and Watermark ink and heat set the images using white embossing powder. Once the backgrounds were heat embossed, I started to work on the sentiments.

On the large tag die I used the Congrats die cut. I die cut 2 layers using Dove White card stock. I then die cut a 3rd layer using a piece of my reactive ink background. I then adhered all the layers together using Hero Arts Precision glue. I then added Hero Arts White Iridescent shimmer spray to the top of the Congrats. For my 2nd and 3rd tag I stamped the sentiments: Birthday Wishes (Paradise Core Ink) and Yay (Butter Bar). I then die cut the sentiments, as well as 2 other layers to add dimension. Once all the sentiments were complete, I adhered these to the tag using liquid glue. I then added color around each tag using Core Inks. I love the added layer of color around the edge of each tag! For the outer edge of each tag I used: Large tag (Tangerine Core Ink), Medium (Paradise Core Ink), Small (Spicy Mustard Core Ink).

I completed the tags with twine for the top, as well as Hero Hues Enamel Stickers! I had so much fun making these tags! I can’t wait for you to see the full kit on Monday!
