Hello Crafty friends I am super excited to be back today joining the team over at Simon Says Stamp for their Monday Challenge! This week the theme is Fun with Foil ! I had a lot of fun this week and I can’t wait to see all the AMAZING makes!
I started by creating a mixed media panel on Bristol Smooth Vellum paper. On the panel I added layers of masking tape, as well as dry wall tape. I placed these randomly across the panel to add texture to the background. Next I added White Gesso to various spots across the background panel. I applied the gesso with a palette knife. I allowed the panel to completely dry.

Once the panel was dry, it was time to add color! I used a variety of Distress Mediums. I have added the full list in the supplies below. When I build a background I always work in layers. I apply an ink or spray, add water, move the color around, then dry with a heat tool. I then continue the same process, allowing each layer to dry and to build texture and movement with added colors.

Once the background was complete, I added additional texture using a text stamp from my stash. Next I trimmed down the panel to create a smaller panel. You may see the other half next week? I then die cut the Etched Flower Bud from black card stock. I die cut the floral 3 times and adhered the layers together with liquid glue. I then found coordinating pattern paper from my stash to place behind the floral. I ripped the paper for added texture, as well as vellum.

Next I added foil to the background, as well as to my floral buds using a blue foil from my stash, as well as Ranger Sticky embossing powder. I added embossing ink to various parts of the background, as well as to my flower buds. I then added the sticky embossing powder and melted the powder. Next I added the foil by placing the foil on top of the powder and rubbed the foil with my scoring tool. I love the texture you can achieve with this technique! I also added white circles to the background with a white gel pen, as well as washi tape for added detail.

I completed the panel by adhering all the layers together. I added a few white splatters, as well as a sentiment to complete the panel! I had a lot of fun this week!
