In My Heart Simon Says Stamp | Day 2 Blog Hop

Hey Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Simon Says Stamp today to celebrate their new release – In My Heart! For today’s project I am sharing a small note card size project! I am featuring 3 items from the new release and wanted to showcase the AMAZING new XL EZ strip banner dies, as well as the Reverse Friendship XL EZ sentiment sheets! These items pair perfectly together and allow you to die cut one sheet of sentiments at a time, truly so easy! There are several new XL EZ dies, so be sure to check them out! I am also featuring the Nature in Bloom background stamp! So let’s get started!

I started my project with a background from my stash. The background was created using Lindy’s Magicals. I prepped the background with my embossing tool, then stamped the background using embossing ink. I then added white embossing powder. Before heat setting I removed some of the white embossing powder as I wanted some areas to not have the text background. I then heat set the powder. Next I ran the background through my sewing machine to add some stitching for added interest and texture.

Next I ran the Reverse Friendship XL EZ sentiments with the XL Strips Banner die through my die cutting machine! I also die cut the Etched Floral Buds from white card stock and the Vault edges using black card stock. I then adhered all the layers together, placing pieces of dry wall tape behind my floral die cut, as well as the sentiment.

To complete my project I added splatters, as well as gems. I had a lot of fun creating this project and had a lot of fun! Thank you for stopping by today!

  11. Your card is a colorful and a wonderful way to let a special friend know that you are thinking about them and that you cherish your shared friendship. I love the bright background the Lindy’s powders create and that background sets a great grounding point to use a wonderful background text stamp to add extra interest to your card. While I’ve never personally sewn on a card I ALWAYS am inspired to want to give it a try, maybe this time will be the time. When you have a wonderful background a bold sentiment or a bold sentiment and a smaller strip sentiment is all that is needed to complete a card. Well done !!

  16. So much to take in on your notecard. The recipient will know that you spent a lot of time on it. Love all the bits and pieces of your design. May have to give my sewing machine a workout one day to get more of my creative juices going!

  21. Great card! Never thought to remove some of the embossing powder, especially using a text background. The sentiment you picked look perfect for this.
