WOW Embossing Powder – Background

Hi friends! I wanted to stop in to say hello and share a technique with you using WOW embossing powders to create a colorful and textured background! I love to add color and texture and this is a fun technique using your embossing folders!

To begin my card today I started by stamping my floral images. I used the beautiful layering floral stamp set from Rubbernecker stamps – Fragrant Blooms! I placed the floral images one layer at a time in my Misti Stamping tool and inked the layers using the mini fuse ink pads from Rubbernecker. I love the bright colors of these inks and the coverage these pads provide. I did add color and embossing powder to the center stamens as well! I like the added shine within each flower image. Once my floral and leaf images were complete, I used the coordinating dies to trim each of the flowers and leaves using my Spellbinders Platinum machine. I then set these aside and started to work on my background!

To create the background I used the following powders, I have linked these for you at the WOW store….. these colors are so pretty!

• WOW Trio Pick me Up – Minty

I started with a piece of blue card stock from my stash. I ran it through my die cutting machine using a Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folder. I then used my WOW embossing pad and swiped it across various sections of my embossed panel. I then added embossing powder one color at a time to the background. I heat set each color one at a time, then added more color. I love the added texture the powder gives. It is fun to see the colors and how they look when you add them on top of one another! The colors and textures are so pretty! I encourage you to give this a try!
