STAMPtember… It’s a Party with Simon Says Stamp

Hello Crafty friends! I am excited to be back today to PARTY with Simon Say Stamp! Today on the Simon Says Stamp blog there is so much inspiration from the Simon Designers and the Design Family and we wanted to party with you to kick off the start of STAMPtember! For today’s project I am sharing the beautiful Brilliant Coneflower Embossing Folder and Cutting die! I fell in love with this folder the moment I saw it! I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Card stock and ran the embossing folder through my die cutting machine. Once the image was dry embossed, I used distress oxides to add a layer of color around the edge of the card panel to create an antiqued look.

Next I taped the card stock panel down onto a hard surface. I taped down the panel today as I was going to use my Zig Markers to watercolor the Coneflowers. When I water color with my zigs, I work in layers coloring one layer at a time, allowing each layer to dry in between. I continued to build layers of color until I had the intensity I was looking for.

Once my background panel and floral images were colored, I added text to the background using the Old Letter Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp using archival ink. I stamped the text randomly across the card panel.

To complete my card panel I distressed the edges using my Tim Holtz Deckle trimmer. I then added splatters and added a sentiment to complete my card!
