Sending a Happy Hello – Unity Stamp Company New Release!

Hi Crafty friends! I wanted to stop in to share an amazing new release with you over at Unity Stamp Company! Unity released some new background stamps, spring/Easter themed, and new florals! For today’s card I am using the awesome new background – Just a Dash Background stamp, as well as a recent release Smile You are Loved (if you add this floral set to your cart, the magical discount appears, over 50% off). So let’s get started!

I started by stamping this gorgeous floral from the Smile You are Loved stamp set. I started by prepping my watercolor card stock with my embossing buddy. Then I stamped the image using WOW embossing clear ink and heat set the image using WOW embossing powder – Metallic Gold Rich Pale. It was now time to watercolor! I recently purchased a set of the Altenew Waterbrush markers (Spring Garden) and I am LOVING them! I found them very easy to work with and the colors blended very easily. I mixed a variety of colors from this set. When I color I often change my order, as I find when I mix the color layers I receive a different color – it is so fun! Once my image was colored, I set this aside to dry. Once dry, I used my scan and cut to trim the image!

I then started to work with my new background – Just a Dash Background. Once the image was stamped, I then used a die from Tim Holtz to create the texture on my background! I still wanted to add a bit of color behind my background, so I looked in my stash and chose a gelli plate background. I added a stencil, glitter, and some embossing paste to add a bit more texture! I love adding the extra sparkle! I apologize I didn’t write the name of the stencil I used down, but this technique can be done with any stencil. I place the stencil on top of my background and add texture paste (clear) on top. As soon as I pull the stencil off, I add the glitter. It drys and the glitter stays on!

Once everything was dry, I assembled my card and chose a sentiment from Smile You are Loved. I adhered my card together and used foam tape on my background and floral image to add extra dimension! I had a lot of fun with this card and this new background is an awesome new addition to our crafty supplies!
