October 2023 My Monthly Hero Release | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month as a Guest Designer for their release of the Hero Arts October 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on release! This month’s release is amazing and it is all about a snowy night in the forest. I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started! For my first card I will be sharing items from the Classic Kit, as well as the Premium Kit!

I started with a piece of Mixed Media paper and some amazing Hero Arts Liquid watercolors. I used 4 colors to create my background: Jungle Mist, Mulled Wine, Purple, Brights Purple. I started by adding a bit of color (1 at a time) to my surface. I worked in layes, adding 1 color at a time, dipping the paper in the color, drying with my heat tool, spritzing with water drops, picking up the color with a paper towel, then repeating the process until I have the texture I am looking for. I love the hero Liquid watercolors, they are so vivid and work so well for this technique. I set my background aside to dry before the next step.

Next I used the Swirling Stars Stencil. I applied texture paste through various parts of the stencil, then set it aside to dry. Once it was completely dry, I added a bit more watercolor following the same process as above.

Next I used the Swirl Snow Clear Stamp Set from the kit. I stamped in random places around the background to add texture and interest to the background. I then applied Hero wax in gold to various sections of the texture paste. I love the hero wax and how the color just shines in gold! It is AMAZING!

Next I chose the sentiment, Merry Christmas using the dies included in the kit. I die cut two layers using white card stock and then heat embossed the 3rd layer using Hero Arts Brass Embossing powder. I die cut the shadow layer using vellum. I adhered the layers together using liquid glue.

Next I added white splatters to my background panel for added interest. I then glued the sentiment onto the panel and adhered 2 Vellum Snowflakes from the Premium kit using foam adhesive. I trimmed the card panel using my deckle trimmer, distressed the edges and adhered the panel to an A2 card base.

I had so much fun creating with the October My Monthly hero Kit! Its an AMAZING kit and I can’t wait to have some more fun!
