I love to color: Unity Floral & Alcohol Markers

Hi crafty friends! I am super excited to be back today! I wanted to stop in to let you know I am over on the Unity Stamp Company blog today! I am hosting the monthly challenge, this month is all about florals! I am having a lot of fun! For today’s card I am using the June Rose and In My Thoughts, Girl stamp sets! I am also using Tombow – ABT Pro Alcohol Based markers! I am new to these markers and truly enjoyed using them! I loved how they blended so well together! The color selection is amazing and love how they come in packs with 5 colors ready to blend together! So let’s get started!

I started by stamping the leaf images onto Neenah card stock. I then created a mask for the single leaf. Next I stamped the rose image 2 times. Once on my card panel near the leaves, the other on a separate card stock. I stamped the images using Momento ink. I added a bit of Spun Sugar Distress Oxide around my floral and leaves to add a bit of color to my card panel background.

It was now time to color! As I shared above, I am new these markers and truly loved them! The colors are gorgeous and I found they blended really well together! I can’t wait to use them again! I used colors from the Pink Tones, Basic Palette, and the Nature Palette. I worked from darkest to lightest on the floral and leaves! I am working on how to color leaves! I find these very challenging! I hope to keep learning!

Once my images were colored I cut the single rose using my scan and cut, then added a bit of foam tape to the back. I stamped the sentiment directly to my card base from the In My Thoughts, Girl stamp set. I trimmed the panel using a rectangle die. Finally I adhered the panel to my card base, adhered the single rose, then added a few sequins for added shine!
