Garden Shutters: Eyelet Lace Frame – Spellbinders

Hi Crafty friends! Welcome back! I am super excited to share a beautiful new die set from Spellbinders – Eyelet Lace Frame Etched Dies, from the Garden Shutters Collection, by Becca Feeken! This is a gorgeous new collection, you can view the Garden Shutters Collection here. Today’s card is using the gorgeous new Lace Frame Etched die set, this die set creates a beautiful 5 x7 card – it truly is stunning and will pair beautifully with all of your Spellbinders dies! So let’s get started!

I started by doing all of my die cutting using each of the dies in this new collection! I am in love with the scallop frame! Isn’t it so beautiful! I die cut each of the layers in Neenah 80 lb. white card stock, as well as layers in pink for the scallop layer and the smaller rectangle center. Once these were all die cut I adhered the layers together (pink & white) and set these aside!

I love this eyelet frame and wanted to create an elegant birthday card. I chose to use the beautiful Glimmering Peony. I love this glimmer die! It is truly beautiful and I felt it would pair well with this Eyelet Frame die. I foiled the peony using my Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer System and used Matte Gold Foil. Once everything was foiled, I colored the image using my alcohol markers. I worked from darkest to lightest building color and add dimension. Once everything was colored in, I went back in and added colored pencils for additional dimension. Once my coloring was complete, I trimmed the peony bloom with my scissors.

Next I created a 5×7 card base and started to adhere the layers. I used liquid adhesive to adhere the base/scallop layer. Then I used foam tape to adhere the center rectangle layer. I also added foam tape behind the peonies and adhered this to the card front. To complete the card I used a foiled sentiment from the Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set. I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment. I foiled this in matte gold and die cut this with the coordinating die. I adhered this with a combination of liquid and foam adhesive!
