Brutus Monroe – Die of the Month

Hi everyone – I am back sharing the Die of the Month from Brutus Monroe! This is a beautiful die and perfect for spring! You can see the monthly subscriptions here. I started by placing aqua pigments on a clear acrylic block. I used a large block for this. I used Turquoise and Cactus Metallic pigments. These pigments are so fun and full of so much color they are so easy to work with! I love the added sparkles in the metallics. I used an A2 sized piece of watercolor card stock and “smooshed” it against the block. I moved the paper around in different directions to achieve the colors I was looking for. Once it was done, I set it aside to dry. Once it was dry I placed it under a few heavy books to flatten out a bit. I then started to work on my sentiment. I stamped the Hello Beautiful from the Super Sentimental stamp set. I used a white embossing powder on a navy card stock from my stash. I used the same navy paper behind my butterfly die cuts.

When my panel was “flat” I ran it through my die cutting machine. It was so fun to see the beautful pattern of butterflies. These dies cut so beautifully too! I also ran it a second time on a piece of light blue card stock. I then glued the 2 pieces together. The pigment inks gave the front panel of butterflies such a beautiful look. I adhered these to my navy panel and attached them to my card base. I cut a few pieces of glitter card stock for added detail and glued these to the center of the card. I adhered the sentiment on foam tape, added a few sequins, and my card was compelte!

Dahlia Slim Card – Alex Syberia

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend and had a very nice Easter. I spent the day with my family and kids. It was fun to see my kids (18 and soon to be 15) go on an Easter egg hunt in the house! We had a lot of fun! Today I am sharing a beautiful new stamp set from Alex Syberia – Dahlia Slim card panel.

I started by printing the card panel on Bristol Smooth card stock. I used my zig clean color brush markers to color all the beautiful Dahilas. This panel was truly fun to color! I used several layers to add the color and depth to my florals. Once my coloring was complete I added splatters in several colors that are within my card.

To complete my card I added a sentiment from Hero Arts (Sending you Sunshine and Laughter) and the Hugs die is from (Simon Says Stamp). I layered this using a pink and black card stock). To compelte the card I adhered this to a black card panel.

Madame Dahila – Alex Syberia Design

Hi everyone – I am super excited to be guest designing for Alex Syberia’s newest release! I have been a huge fan of her work and to be guest designing for her, just makes so happy! This new release is full of amazing stamp sets and you will be able to shop here. In the store you can see each of the beautiful new sets being released! I created 3 cards for this release and will be sharing them with you over the next few days! Be sure to visit instagram for beautiful inspiration, as well as Alex’s blog. For my first card I am using the Madame Dahlia card panel from the release. I printed my stamp on Bristol smooth cardstock. I find I don’t create too many blue florals, so I wanted to try something new. I used a mix of 2 blues and a green for my floral. I continued to add color until I was seeing my vision. I then added some deep blue with colored pencils in the nooks and crannies.

I then added splatters to the whole panel. I used blue, green, and even a little gold. I then added sentiment from a Hero Arts set I own. I stamped the image and then heat set it using white embossing powder. To complete my card I adhered the sentiment with foam tape and glued my panel onto a black card base. I added a few sequins as well.
