September 2024 Hero Studio Release & Blog Hop | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts September 2024 Card Kit of the Month, Monthly Minis, as well as Extraordinary Extras. This month’s release is amazing and it is all about Halloween. So many amazing fall and spooky goodies to choose from, I had so much fun! I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first project I am using the September Card Kit of the Month! I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth paper. I then created the backgrounds for each tag using Hero Arts Sprays. I used Two Tone Sprays in: Bright Yellow & Copper, Spring Green & Gold, Royal Purple & Gold, and Ocean Blue & Gold. I also used Tone on Tone Spray in: Orange Shimmer. I applied the spray directly to the panel, then lightly misted each panel using water from my spray bottle. I apply the water once I spray to allow the ink to move and create more texture. I then dry the panel with my heat tool, spritz with water and water droplets, then remove the color with a paper towel. I repeat this process with each panel until I have the color and texture I am looking for.

Once each panel was complete, I die cut the panels using the Tag Infinity Dies. Next I stamped onto each tag using a variety of stamps from the Card Kit. I stamped the images using Hero Arts Intens-ified-Black Ink. I also stamped the sentiments for each tag, then trimmed them using the coordinating die, as well as my paper trimmer (yellow tag).

Once the tags were stamped, I added splatters to each tag using Acrylic Spray. I then darkened the edges of each tag using Pitch Black Core Ink. At the bottom of each tag, I adhered a thin strip of the ink blended background. These are scraps from the tags once they were die cut! I love keeping these for additional texture and layers. I completed the tags with twine at the top, then adhered the sentiments. I had a lot of fun creating these tags using this month’s kit! I hope you enjoyed them!

For my second card I am using the new Halloween Words Stencil! I started with a piece of Luxe White Watercolor paper. I used sprays to create my background. I used Tone on Tone Sprays: Black Shimmer, Orange Shimmer, and Green Shimmer, as well as Two Tone Sprays in Bright Yellow & Copper, Spring Green & Gold, and Royal Purple & Gold. I sprayed one color at a time and continued to build color until I had the colors and texture I was looking for.

Next I placed the Halloween Words Stencil over my sprayed background. I applied Pitch Black Core Ink through the stencil using a stencil brush. I inked up sections of the stencil to create texture along the background.

Once the background was inked I trimmed the panel and distressed the edges using my scissors. I then applied Pitch Black Core Ink to the edge. I set the background aside. Next I die cut the bats using the Bat Infinity Dies. I die cut the bats from Pitch Black card stock. I then stamped a sentiment from the Halloween Messages stamp set onto Dove White cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment and then added foam tape behind the sentiment.

I completed the card by adding white splatters using Acrylic Spray. I then adhered the background panel onto a top folding card base. I then adhered the bats using a combination of foam tape and liquid glue. I added a piece of cheese cloth behind the bat. The sentiment completed my card! I had so much fun making today’s card!

September 2024 Hero Studio Countdown to Creativity | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Hero Arts today for the Countdown to the September 2024 Hero Studio (and EXTRAS)! We are celebrating this weekend with a two day countdown sharing beautiful inspiration all weekend using the Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month, as well as the Monthly Minis. I am super EXCITED for the September release and I know you are going to love it too! Today’s project is using the September Fancy Dies of the Month! So let’s get started!

I started by die cutting the mirror frame two times using Granite cardstock. I adhered them together using Precision Glue. I then added color to my die cut frame using Hero Arts sprays in: Ocean Blue and Gold, Black and Shimmer, and Blue and Shimmer. I continued to build layers using the colors. I allowed the frame to completely dry, then added Hero Wax in the color Olive. I applied the wax to sections of the mirror frame using my finger. I set the frame aside to completely dry.

Next I die cut the silhouette from the set using Pitch Black card stock. I die cut this two times, then adhered the layers together using liquid glue. I added more texture to the silhouette image by spraying the die cut with the Black and Shimmer spray. Next I die cut a rose from a new die set releasing next week using Luxe White watercolor paper. I also die cut this two times, then adhered this together with liquid glue. I colored the rose using Reactive Inks in: Thistle, Grape Slush, Green Apple and Root Beer. I darkened the edges using Core Inks in: Plum and Forever Green

Next I trimmed a piece of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock into an A2 panel and blended Reactive Inks using a blending tool. I used: Thistle, Grape Slush, and Splash Inks to create the background. I added a few water droplets, as well as a Halloween stencil to my background. I pulled color through the stencil using a baby wipe and Core Ink (Nautical). I darkened the edges of the panel using Core Inks in: Grape Juice. I completed the card using a new sentiment on Pitch Black card stock. I heat embossed the sentiment using White embossing powder.

Hero Arts Holiday 2024 Catalog Release Blog Hop

For today’s project I am sharing a fun holiday tag using the ADORABLE Peeking Winter Bear Fancy Die! Isn’t he so cute!!!!!!!! I paired this project with a few other fun goodies from this release as well! So let’s get started!

I started my project by creating the Peeking Winter bear. I die cut the bear using Dove White Cardstock. I die cut the hat, gloves, and scarf using Paradise Cardstock. The eyes were die cut using Pitch Black Card stock. Once the bear was die cut, I inked the bear and his accessories using Core Inks. On the bear I used: Ivory, Sand, and Caramel. For the accessories I used: Bermuda and Nautical. I also added Iridescent Copper Embossing Powder to some of the pieces as well. I then adhered the layers together and set the bear aside.

Next I started to work on the background for the bear. I used a piece of Hero Arts Luxe Watercolor paper. I then created an ink smooshed background using liquid watercolors. I used the following colors: Indigo, Aqua, Jungle Mist, and White. I place a small amount of watercolor on my work surface, spritzed with water, move the color with my finger, then dip/smoosh the paper into the water. I then repeat this process with all the colors until I have the color and texture I am looking for!

Once the background was completely dry I trimmed the panel using the Infinity Tag die set. I then added texture to the background using the beautiful new Festive Paper Collage Hero Transfers! I also stamped the Kaleidoscope Snowflake background onto the tag. I used embossing ink and then heat set with Iridescent Blue embossing powder. I distressed the edges using Iridescent Copper embossing powder, as well as Hero Wax in White. I then added splatters using White Acrylic Spray!

Next I chose a sentiment from the Cozy Study Holiday stamp set. I stamped this onto Dove White cardstock. I then die cut the sentiment using the coordinating die. I also die cut some snowflakes using the Snowflake Pattern Cover Plate. I used a leftover piece of the watercolor background from my tag. I completed my tag with 2 pieces of twine (top and middle of tag), then adhered the bear and sentiment using foam tape, as well as liquid glue! I had so much fun making this holiday tag using several products from the new release!
