Thankful Magnolia: Simon Says Stamp

Hi Crafty friends! I am excited to be back today sharing a watercolor card using the beautiful new Thankful Magnolia stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! This floral set is just GORGEOUS and truly a dream to color! I also wanted to let you know we have a Simon Says Stamp Instagram Hop happening right now! For today’s card I started with a piece of Fabriano Hot Press watercolor card stock and the beautiful Thankful Magnolia stamp set. I started by prepping my card stock with my antic-static powder tool. I then stamped the image using Versafine Ink in the color Nocturne. I then heat embossed the image using WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder. I taped the stamped image onto a hard board and started to watercolor. I used my Karin marker’s for today’s project. I colored in layers allowing each layer to dry.

As I worked in layers I added darker shades in the nooks and crannies to create more texture and dimension. I added shading around the floral image using a couple shades of gray. Once my image was complete, I added a few splatters using metallic watercolor. I then trimmed the image using a rectangle die and adhered this to an A2 card base.

I then chose the sentiment – I appreciate You from the stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto black card stock and heat embossed the sentiment using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then trimmed the sentiment and adhered this to the card front.
