Splendor Release Blog Hop Day 1 | Simon Says Stamp

Hey Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Simon Says Stamp today to celebrate their new release – Splendor! Today is day 1 of a 2 day Blog Hop, so be sure to stop in to see all the AMAZING inspiration! I am sharing all the blog hop details and information below! So let’s get started!

Today I am excited to share 3 new products with your from the Splendor Release: Pony Love Stencil, Fine Floral Stem, and Fancy Happy Easter. I started my card with a pre-made background from my stash. The background was made using previous ink smooshing. I started with this background and the Pony Love Stencil. I placed the stencil over the top of the background and ink blended Distress Oxide inks over the top of the stencil. I used: Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves. I added water droplets using my water bottle and picked up color with a paper towel. I then allowed the panel to completely dry.

Once the panel was dry, I placed the stencil over the top of the background and applied Hero Arts Two Tone Sprays in Bright Yellow and Copper. Once this was dry, I used my palette knife and applied Hero Arts Glitter Paste over the top of sections of the stencil. I removed the stencil and rinsed my stencil. Once dry, I trimmed the panel with a Rectangle Nesting Die and adhered this to an A2 card base.

Next I die cut the Fine Floral Stem using Hammermill paper. I then used my Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks to add colors to my floral stems. I used the following colors: Pearfection, Sunbeam, and Citrine. I also added Hero Arts Core Inks in: Caramel, Espresso, and Raspberry Jam. Once my inking was complete, I added metallic watercolor splatters for added texture. I used my floral shaping tool to add a bit more dimension to each flower. I then adhered the 2 floral layers together using liquid glue.

To complete my card I adhered the floral stem to my card panel using a combination of foam tape and liquid glue. I added a few hearts for added interest. These were die cut using the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Stacked Hearts die set. I added Hero Arts Glitter paste to sections of the hearts, as well as core inks. The card was completed with a sentiment from the new Fancy Happy Easter card panels.
