Hello Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Hero Arts today for the Countdown to the November 2024 Hero Studio (and EXTRAS)! We are celebrating this weekend with a two day countdown sharing beautiful inspiration all weekend using the Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month, as well as Monthly Minis.
For today’s project I am using the November Card kit to create a fun holiday tag! I started with the circle shape tag. On the tag background I created an ink blended background using Core Inks. I used: Paradise, Caramel, and Espresso. Once the ink blend was complete, I used a stencil from the kit to apply Hero Berry Wax using a Hero Palette knife. I set the background aside to completely dry. Once the background was dry I added splatters using various dye inks, as well as white acrylic spray.
Next I stamped the adorable owl onto watercolor paper. I stamped the image using Onyx Pigment Ink, then heat set using clear embossing powder. I colored the image using my zig markers. When using my zig markers, I work from lightest to darkest. Once the owl was completely colored, I die cut the owl using a die in the set.
Next I created the gift for the owl to pop out of on my tag. I die cut the gift using Dove White card stock. I then used the same Core Inks as above to create a blended background. I die cut the ribbon from the set using the Glitter Holiday sparkle paper pack. I then heat embossed the ribbon using white embossing powder, as well as added Hero Wax in gold for added shine and texture. On the gift, I stamped and embossed the snowflakes using a stamp from the kit. I heat embossed these using white embossing powder.
I completed the tag by adhering the layers together using a combination of foam tape, as well as Precision Glue. I darkened the edges using Core Inks in: Espresso and Pitch Black. I stamped and die cut the sentiment from the kit onto Dove White card stock. I also added a bit of twine for a bow and added texture behind the owl.
