My Monthly Hero December Countdown | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Hero Arts today for the Countdown to the December 2023 My Monthly Hero kit (and add-on products)! We are celebrating this weekend with a three day countdown sharing beautiful inspiration all weekend using the Classic and Premium Kits before the release on Monday December 4. For today’s card I am focusing on the Classic Kit! I can’t wait for you to see everything! Let’s get started!

I started by creating an inky background using Hero Arts Two Tone spray in Ocean Blue/Gold, Bright Yellow/Copper, and Tone on Tone spray in Black Shimmer (for splatters). I started by spritzing the color(s) directly onto Hero Arts Luxe Watercolor paper. I work with one color at a time by applying color, drying with heat tool, adding water droplets, then picking up color with a paper towel. I repeat this process with all the colors, until I have the texture I am looking for. I allow the card panel to completely dry.

Next I used the cover plate die included in the kit to die cut the background! Isn’t this die AMAZING! Be sure to keep the letters as well! Once the panel was die cut using my inky background, I die cut the panel a second time using Dove White Card stock. I adhered the 2 die cut panels together using Hero Arts Precision glue. I added a 2nd piece of dove white behind the adhered panels. I then applied more sprays for added texture and color in the white space.

I then applied both Hero Paste in glitter and gold to the panel in various places using a palette knife. Once the panel was completely dry, I added splatters using the Tone on Tone spray in Black Shimmer.

I completed my card by die cutting the word Hi using the cover plate using Pitch Black card stock. I added dimension to the word hi, using leftover pieces from my original die cutting. I then partially embossed the sentiment using Brass Embossing Powder. I added a bit of texture under the sentiment using a torn piece of Vellum from Hero Arts. I darkened the edges a bit with Intensified Black Ink from Hero Arts. I then adhered the 2 panels onto an A2 card base and trimmed a strip of Pitch Black Card stock. I adhered this to the left of the colored panel.
