Hello Crafty friends! I am happy to be back today to share with you a fun and grungy card using a couple of new items from Picket fence Studios January release! Be sure to pop on over to Instagram as well where there is an AWESOME hop going on and an amazing prize too! Let’s get started!
I started today’s card by creating a gelli print background using the new Sun with Rays stencil. I love the texture and visual interests this provides. I then trimmed the panel to a bit smaller than an A2 card base and distressed the edges using my paper trimmer and my scissors. I then added distressed inks for more texture and set the panel aside.
Next I die cut the Soar Butterfly 4 times, using card stock and for the top layer pattern paper. I then adhered each layer together with liquid glue. I then added a bit more texture by applying dye inks using a finger dauber. Now came the fun part….. I then added Paper Glaze from Picket Fence with my finger to various parts of the butterfly! There are several new mixed media mediums in the new release and the colors are AMAZING!!!!!!! I allowed it to dry, but not fully dry and applied foil to various places (this dries very quickly).
Next I heat embossed my sentiment from the Swanky Friendship Sentiment sets onto black card stock with white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment using the coordinating die set. I added foam tape to the back and set it aside.
Next I added a bit more texture to my card panel background using a text tissue paper, washi tape, splatters in white and black, and then a bit more glaze for added interest.
I completed my card by adhering all the layers together using liquid glue and foam adhesive. I had so much fun creating today’s card! Be sure to come join us on Instagram for an awesome hop with beautiful inspiration and a chance to enter the giveaway! I hope to see you there!
