July 2024 Hero Studio Release & Blog Hop | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the July Hero Arts 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on release! This month’s release is amazing. I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first project today I am sharing the July 20204 Card Kit of the Month with you! I had a lot of fun creating this card. I started with a piece of Dove White cardstock. I stamped both the water and the fence image onto Dove White. I used a combination of Reactive and Core Inks for both of the images. For Reactive inks I used: Root Beer, Fog, Pool Party, Blue Raspberry, Splash, & Blue Hawaii. For Core inks I used: Butter Bar, Fawn, Caramel, Espresso, Sand, Mist, Aegan, Deep Ocean, and Nautical. Once both of these images were stamped, I die cut them using the coordinating dies within the kit. I set these aside to work on my card panel background.

For the card panel background I used a piece of Dove White cardstock. For the sand I used a blending brush with Sand Core Ink, and Root Beer Reactive Ink. I added the reactive ink on top of the Sand core ink so I could apply water droplets for added texture to the sand. For the sky I used Mist Core Ink. I then stamped the clouds at the top of the panel using a combination of both Core and Reactive Inks.

Next I stamped the birds directly to the background, using Intensified Black Ink. I also stamped the birthday sentiment from the kit and die cut the sentiment. I die cut an additional layer as well for added dimension. I adhered the layers together using precision glue. Next I chose a piece of the included transfers from the kit and applied this to my background. I also stamped a couple of sea shells across the background. Once the background was complete I added splatters using White Glimmer Metallic Ink. I allowed the panel to completely dry, then die cut the panel using the Nesting Rectangle die.

Next I trimmed a piece of Nautical cardstock and adhered this to an A2 card base. I then adhered the layered images onto the card front using foam tape and liquid glue. I had a lot of fun creating this beach scene using the July 2024 Card Kit of the Month.

For my next project I am using one of the July Extraordinary Extras, the Pebbles and Stones Stencil. I love stencils and this stencil was so fun to use to create an underwater scene. I started with a piece of Luxe White watercolor paper. I created a background on the paper using Reactive Inks. I used: Lemon Drop, Blue Hawaii, Root beer, and Pool Party. I start with one color at a time smooshing the ink directly on my work surface, I add water to the ink, move the ink with my finger, then smoosh the paper into the ink. I dry the paper with my heat tool, then add water droplets and pick up the color with a paper towel. I repeat this process with each of the colors until I have the color and texture I am looking for.

Once the panel was completely dry, I trimmed the panel using the Nesting tag dies. Next I stamped ocean waves from the Nautical Messages Bundle stamp set. Then I placed the Pebbles and Stones stencil on top and applied Hero Arts Paste in White Pearl though the stencil in various places along the tag. I applied the paste with my palette knife. I allowed the paste to completely dry, then once it was dry I added Gold Glimmer metallic Ink to the tag for added shine and sparkle.

Next I stamped 2 fish from the Tropical Fishes Bundle set onto 2 scraps in my stash. I had 2 left over balloon shapes (these were made using Reactive Inks). I stamped the fish and heat set them with clear embossing powder. I love keeping scraps from previous projects, you never know when they will come in handy! I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of scrap as well (Tropical Fishes Bundle set ). I distressed the edges of my tag, the fish bubbles, as well as the sentiment using Espresso Core Ink. I completed the tag by adhering the layers together with foam tape, as well as liquid glue. I added twine to the top to finish off the tag! I had a lot of fun creating this!
