Hero Arts Spring 2024 Catalog Release Blog Hop | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty Friends! I am super EXCITED to celebrate the AMAZING new release from Hero Arts! Today we are celebrating the release of the Spring 2024 Catalog! The new catalog is truly beautiful, it is full of amazing new stamps, dies, stencils, a new collaboration with Ralph Tyndall, and so much more! I will be sharing the hop information below, as well as links to the Spring catalog, and the individual products I used! For my first project I am going to share a tag with you using the Butterfly Pattern Stencil, so let’s get started!

Today I am using the Butterfly Pattern stencil! I absolutely love stencils and the versatility you have with them when creating! I love the whimsical feel of the butterflies and was inspired to create a tag with lots of color and texture! I started with a piece of Luxe White watercolor paper. I chose to use Liquid Watercolors to create a colorful background. I love the Hero Arts liquid watercolors, they are so vibrant and easy to work with. I used the colors: Brights Pink, Brights Green, Jungle Mist, Deep Ocean . I start by placing a small amount on my work surface, I spritz with water, then “smoosh” the paper into the color. I then dry with a heat tool and add water droplets for texture, then pick up with a paper towel. I repeat this process until I have all the color and texture I am looking for. I set then panel aside to completely dry. Next I trim the background with the Nesting Tag dies. Be sure to keep the leftover background, I used this in a step below! Even if I don’t use it, I always set them aside for future backgrounds!

Once my tag is die cut, I added texture to the background with the AMAZING new Vintage Postmarks and Tickets stamp set! You can see this set below! I fell in love the moment I unpacked my goodies, this will be perfect for adding texture to your backgrounds! I stamped the images using Pigment Onyx ink.

I then applied Hero Paste Gold through the Butterfly Pattern stencil using my Hero Arts Palette Knife. I set the tag aside to dry. While the paste was drying, I die cut butterflies using the extra background panel I created using the Butterfly Foliage Fancy Die. Once the paste was dry, I adhered the butterflies using Hero Arts Precision glue, as well as foam tape for added dimension.

I completed the tag with a sentiment from the Appreciate You stamp set, by embossing with White Embossing Powder onto Pitch Black Cardstock. I added black twine to complete my tag! I had so much fun using these products!

  3. Love your mixed media creations! Lots of fun & cheerful colors! Would you happen to have a video tutorial showing how any of them were created? Any time I attempt a mixed media project, it just looks messy LOL Practice more, I guess! Thanks for sharing!

  29. I love the watercolor background. Gorgeous! I love the gold butterflies from the Hero Arts gold paste and stencil. Didn’t realize it came in gold. Need to get me some of that.
