Celebrate Release Blog Hop Day 2 | Simon Says Stamp

Hey Crafty friends! I am super excited to join Simon Says Stamp today to celebrate their new release – Celebrate! Today is day 2 of a 2 day Blog Hop, so be sure to stop in to see all the AMAZING inspiration! I am sharing all the blog hop details and information below! So let’s get started!

Today I am sharing 2 new products with you from the Celebrate release, I am using the Whirl Butterflies and the Grad Foil Transfer cards for my project today! I love this new butterfly die! I started by die cutting the butterflies using a premade background from my stash. I die cut 3 butterflies using my premade background. Once they were die cut, I also die cut 3 antennae from the Detail Meadow Butterfly die set. I also cut the antennae from the same background panel. Once these were die cut I adhered them together using liquid glue.

Next I started to work on my background for the butterflies. I used a #8 tag base to create my background. I used a combination of Distress Oxide Ink, Distress Inks, Distress Oxide Spray, as well as Distress Spray Stain. I have listed all the colors below for you. I start by placing the ink on my work surface, spritz the ink with water, move the color with my finger, then I dip the tag into the ink. I dry the ink with my heat tool, then add water droplets to the panel and pick up the color with a paper towel. I repeat this process with all the colors until I have the color and texture I am looking for.

Once the tag base is completely dry I add texture to the tag background using stamps and a stencil. I apply the stamps using Core Inks, as well as the stencil. I listed the colors of Hero Arts Core Inks below. Once my stamping is complete, I add the Lattice Tile Stencil and apply Core Ink through sections of the stencil using a blending brush. Once the stamping and stencil is complete, I inked the edges of the tag using Distress Ink. Once this is dry, I added more texture using embossing ink, as well as Embossing Glaze.

I completed the tag by adhering the butterflies using liquid glue. Next I added Cherry Pawsitively Dazzing gems by adhering them with liquid glue. I completed the tag with a sentiment from the new Grad Foil Transfers. I decided to keep the sentiment with no foiling for this tag. I added a few splatters to the tag, as well as twine to complete the tag. I had so much fun creating today’s project! I hope you enjoyed it!
