For my first project I am sharing a card using the February Card Kit of the Month! I started with a piece of Deluxe Smooth White card stock. I inked up the Circling Clouds background stamp from the kit using reactive inks. I used the following colors: Creamsicle, Lemon Drop, Fog, Splash, and Root Beer. I applied one color at a time directly to the cling stamp, lightly spritzed with water, then stamped the image onto the card stock. I repeated this process using all the colors above until I have the color and texture I was looking for.

Next I trimmed the panel using Nesting Rectangle dies. I then inked the edges using Core Inks in Espresso and added texture to the edges using Wintergreen wax. I then added splatters to the background panel using reactive inks (Root Beer and Creamsicle). Then I die cut the smile sentiment using Cup of Joe card stock. I die cut the word smile 3 times, then adhered them together using precision glue. I then applied embossing ink to the smile die cut and heat set using Gold and Green Iridescent Shimmer powder.

Next I stamped the butterflies from the card kit onto vellum. I stamped the images using Onyx Pigment Ink. I then heat set them with clear embossing powder. I die cut the butterflies using the included dies. I stamped a sub sentiment onto Pitch Black card stock and heat set using white embossing powder. I then adhered the panel onto an A2 card base and adhered the sentiments using foam tape. Behind the die cut sentiment I added gold thread as well for added texture. I had so much fun with this kit! There are so many possibilities!

For my next project I am using the fancy Dies of the Month! I was so excited to play with these beautiful florals. I started by die cutting all the floral elements onto Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. I then inked the die cuts using Reactive Inks. I used: Creamsicle, Lemon Drop, Key Lime Fizz, Green Apple, Thistle, Taffy, and Berry Smoothie. I used a small blending brush to apply the ink to the leaves and flowers. I also added Core Inks in Pumpkin, Grape Juice, and Caramel for added visual interest. I set aside my die cuts to work on my background.

Next I used Reactive Inks to create an ink smooshed background. I used: Fog, Root Beer, and Splash Ink. I start by smooshing one color of ink onto my work surface, spritz the ink with water, then smoosh my paper into the ink. I continue to repeat this process until I have the colors and textures I am looking for. Between colors, I also add water droplets to my panel and pick up the color with a paper towel.

Next I created some ephemera for my card panel using the Vintage Map and Ledger and Vintage Postmarks and Tickets stamp set. I stamped images from these sets onto an ink smooshed background using Intensified Black Ink. I then fussy cut the images. I darkened the edges of the tickets using Espresso Core Ink. I also used stamps from these sets to add additional texture to the background panel.

I completed the card by adhering all the layers together onto an A2 card base. I also added a piece of cardboard packing behind the flowers. I love the added texture! What a great way to recycle your Hero Arts boxes too! I then added a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiment Strips. I also added splatters using white acrylic spray.

I had a lot of fun with the Fancy Dies of the Month! I hope you enjoyed my 2 projects today!

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts January 2025 Card Kit of the Month, Monthly Minis, as well as Extraordinary Extras. This month’s release is amazing and it is all about love, florals, and more. Be sure to check out the amazing typewriter too! I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first project I am sharing a card using the new Card Kit of the Month! I fell in love with this new kit the moment I saw it! I know you will love it too, it is full of amazing stamps, dies, and more! I started by die cutting the beautiful florals in the kit. I then inked them using reactive inks! I used: Taffy, Berry, Key Lime Fizz, Blue Raspberry, Lemon Drop, as well as Reactive Glitz in Byzantine Green. I ink blended these inks, as well as added water droplets for more texture. I also added splatters using white and gold. Once they were complete, I darkened the edges using Core Inks in Raspberry Jam and Forever Green.

Next I started to work on the background using the Nesting Hearts Cover Plate die. I ink blended the background using Core Inks in: Arctic, Paradise, Sand, and Caramel. I added a few water droplets for added texture. I then die cut the typewriter using the included die onto Antique Ivory card stock. Once the typewriter was die cut, I stamped the various parts using Core Inks in: Charcoal, Arctic, Paradise, Caramel, and Espresso. I completed the card by stamping the sentiment onto the paper die cut.

I adhered everything to an A2 card base using liquid glue and foam tape. I had so much fun with this kit! There are so many possibilities with this kit!

For my next project I created 2 tags using the new monthly Cling Stamp of the Month – Checkered Hearts! I love this background stamp and had a lot of fun! I started by inking the background using various Reactive Inks. I added one color at a time to the stamp, then spritzed the ink with water, and stamped the background onto hot press watercolor paper. I used the following colors: Taffy, Lemon Drop, Pool Party, Key Lime Fizz, and Thistle. I continued to ink the background with each color, until I had the colors and textures I was looking for. Once the backgrounds were complete, I die cut 2 tags using the Tag Infinity Dies.

Next I stamped the Mini Hearts Bold Print stamp using embossing ink. I then heat set using white embossing powder. I added color to the background using reactive inks. Once I was happy with the colors, I die cut hearts using the infinity dies. Next I added wax to the edges of the hearts using the Wintergreen and Gold wax.

I completed the tags by adding sentiments from the new Hello Love stamp and die set. I stamped these onto Dove White card stock using pigment ink and clear embossing powder. I added a bit of cheese cloth for added texture, then adhered everything using foam tape and liquid glue. I added twine and small clothespins at the top for added interest!

December 2024 Hero Studio Release & Blog Hop | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts December 2024 Card Kit of the Month, Monthly Minis, as well as Extraordinary Extras. This month’s release is amazing and it is all about color! You can spread some cheer with rainbows and butterflies! I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first project I am using the December Card Kit of the Month to create Artist Trading Cards. I started with a premade background from my stash. The background was created on a gelli plate using Hero Arts Core Inks: Pale Tomato, Lemon Yellow, and Papaya. I trimmed down my gelli print background using my paper trimmer and die cut 2 ATC’s in the size 2.5 x 3.5.

Next I added more texture to my gelli print backgrounds using the background stamp Nevermore. I stamped the text along the background using Intensified Black Ink. I allowed this to dry, then added white gesso and Hero Arts Pink Metallic Spray (from a previous card kit). I allowed the panel to completely dry.

Next I stamped the flowers and butterflies from the included card kit onto hot press watercolor paper. I stamped the images using Onyx Pigment Ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. Next I watercolored the images using my Karin markers. I continued to build color and layers with my markers. Once they were colored, I die cut the images using included dies in the kit.

I stamped the sentiments onto Dove White card stock using Onyx Pigment ink and heat set them using clear embossing powder. I die cut the sentiments and then adhered all the layers together using a combination of foam tape and precision glue. I had so much fun creating the ATC’s using this month’s kit!

For my next project I am using the Cling Stamp of the Month – Rainbows and Clouds! I started by creating an ink smooshed background using the Reactive Inks included in this month’s card kit. I started by applying a small amount of ink onto my work surface, spritzed water, then moved the ink with my finger. I then smooshed the watercolor paper into the ink. I added more water to the panel, moved the ink, then heat set. I added texture using water droplets and a paper towel. I continued to repeat this process with all the colors from the kit until I had a rainbow inked background.

Next I prepped my watercolor cardstock (from above) using my anti-static powder tool. I then inked the background stamp using embossing ink and heat set using white embossing powder. You can see in the photo the colorful background that I created above and the beautiful rainbow and cloud images! Once the panel was complete, I die cut the panel using Nesting Rectangle dies.

Next I due cut stars (5 Point Stars Infinity Dies) using paper from the Glitter Paper Holiday Sparkle collection. I added texture to the stars using Wintergreen Wax. I applied the wax directly over the glitter paper stars, I love the added texture! I added a sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die of the month onto Dove White cardstock. I then adhered the layers together using liquid glue and foam tape!

I had a lot of fun using these new releases from this month’s collection!
