April 2025 Hero Studio Release & Blog Hop | Hero Arts

Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts April 2025 Card Kit of the Month & Monthly Minis. This month’s release is amazing and it is all about the Tranquil Terrarium . I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!

For my first project I am sharing 2 cards using the April Card Kit of the Month. This kit has so many possibilities and is full of amazing goodies! I am sharing the full contents below, as well as product images. I started by die cutting the images from the kit using Hero Arts card stock. I die cut the leaves, mushrooms, and butterfly using the following colors: Kiwi, Pesto, Cranberry, Cup of Joe, and Adriatic. Once all the images were die cut, I added Core Inks to each of the images for added texture and color.

I applied the Core Ink using a small blending brush. On the mushroom stem I used: Cup of Joe & Espresso; Mushroom top: Raspberry Jam & Caramel; the Leaves: Moss & Caramel. Once everything was inked, I adhered the elements together using Precision glue. I set them aside to work on my backgrounds.

For the backgrounds I started with a piece of Hot Press watercolor paper and my Reactive Inks. I added color to the paper one at a time, smooshing the ink on my work surface. I then dipped the paper into the water, spirtzed with water, and dried with my heat tool. I then added water droplets and picked up the colors using a paper towel. I reapeted this process with each of my colors until I had all the texture I was looking for. I used the following Reactive Ink Colors: Green Apple, Pool Party, and Splash.

Next I adhered all the elements to my card panels using a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I then darkened the edges using Caramel Core Ink. I then stamped a sentiment from the card kit onto each card and added a few white splatters! I had so much fun with this kit! I am excited for you to see all the amazing inspiration!

For my next project I am using the April 2025 Layering Stencils of the Month: Jungle Background and the April 2025 Fancy Dies of the Month: Hello Rainforest Leaves. I started by creating a background using Reactive Inks. I used: Fog and Sea Salt. I followed the same process as I shared above when creating the backgrounds for the panels. Once the ink smooshed background was complete, I allowed the panel to completely dry before moving on.

Next I placed my panel on my work surface and started with the first layer in this month’s stencil set. I then continued to build using each layer of the stencil. I applied Core Ink through each layer using a medium blending brush.

I used the following Core Inks through my stencil layers: Antique Ivory, Mist, Arctic, and Paradise. Once the inking was complete I distressed the edges using my scissors then added Caramel Core Ink for additional texture. Next I die cut the leaves from this month’s Fancy Dies using Pesto Card Stock. I added texture using Core Inks in: Paradise and Caramel.

I completed my project by adhering the panel onto an A2 card base. I added the leaves, a piece of lace, and a button from my stash. I chose a sentiment from this month’s stamp and die set. I completed the card with a few splatters!
