Rubbernecker Birthday Celebration Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends! I am super excited to be back today to help celebrate with Rubbernecker! It’s an exciting month – we are celebrating their birthday, a new release, and a giveaway too! We are super excited to celebrate Rubbernecker stamps birthday – they have been in business for 29 years! It is going to be an amazing month, new stamp sets, beautiful inspiration, and of course prizes! I am sharing the giveaway information below! I have a full list below of each of the Design Team’s blogs, be sure to hop along. I know you will be inspired! So let’s get started!

I just adore the new Happy Birthday Stamp and immediately wanted to create a flat shaker card! They are so much fun and this set is perfect for this! For today’s card I started by stamping the new Happy Birthday stamp onto Neenah card stock. I stamped the image using embossing ink and then heat set the stamp using white embossing powder! Next I ink blended the background using a combination of Distress Oxide Inks. I worked from darkest to lightest. I used: Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar. Once everything was ink blended I added droplets of water and then was ready to begin the shaker pouch!

To create the shaker pocket, I used extra packing from stamp packaging and red line tape. There are many videos on you tube on how to do this! I added a combination of sequins from my stash then set it aside. Next I die cut the largest mini slim die from the Mini Slim Tabbed Deckle Die. I then added inks to the panel in the combos from above.

I then adhered the tabbed deckle die to a mini slim panel and adhered my shaker pouch! Next I knew I wanted to add a bit more dimension to the card! I used the Rectangle Combo #4OPC die from Rubbernecker. I die cut this several times and chose the layers I wanted for my card. I then added embossing powder to several of the rectangles for added shine. I used Be Mine embossing Powder from WOW.

To complete the card I chose a sentiment from the new Birthday Vase stamp set and a sub sentiment from the Organic #1 set. I stamped these and then trimmed them down. The circle die cut is from the Square Combo #1 OPC die.

I then adhered the rectangles to the card panel, as well as the sentiments using both liquid and foam adhesive.
